Tips On Shopping For A Used Car

May 9th, 2008 LeviQuinn Posted in Automotive | No Comments »

When you go shopping for a used car it is best to get the help of a qualified car mechanic to assess the car’s condition so you can be sure that you are buying a car still in good running condition, and not something ready to be thrown to the scrap heap. Ensure that the car technician’s advice should focus on the condition of the engine and other parts of the vehicle related to its use as a running machine.

Do not make the mistake of looking just at the car’s appearance in the display room of the car dealer. It may look very nice and appears like new as if it just came from the factory. Maybe it was only newly repainted, and nothing more. Sometimes potential buyers go for the car’s looks, but the unit could just be a piece of junk. It can pass as a car museum souvenir, but it may not serve the purpose why you are buying it.

It is best that you will be present when the technician/mechanic does his inspection and checking of the car, to ensure that the procedure is meticulously done. If you still are not confident of the results, try to get a second opinion of another technician, preferably somebody whom you know personally and trust, and with whom you had some working relationship in the past.

As part of the car checks you are conducting, go on a test run of the unit with the car technician to see how it actually functions on the road. Try taking it to the rougher country-type roads. These could be better testing terrain on the functionality of the vehicle.

Check also if it is not a gasoline guzzler. This factor might give you more headaches later when you will be the one footing the fuel bills. You could be paying a lesser amount now for the used car, compared to what you will pay if you instead opt for a brand-new machine. If you will be stuck later with an expensive machine in terms of gasoline and repair and maintenance costs, it might make better sense to go for a brand-new unit.

If the previous owner bought the car brand-new, get from him the records of the original purchase. You can then check if there was anything anomalous in the car’s history. If it had been a stolen car, you could just be falling into a problem you never expect to confront you after paying for the used car. It is also prudent to check with the appropriate police and other government agencies to see if there were any delinquencies connected with the car prior to its being placed on sale.

The tips suggested here might sound tedious. These are however necessary things that you should do, to have a better peace of mind afterward. Remember that what you will have will be an old machine. You could have many regrets later if your decision now is wrong and you end up with a machine with a multitude of problems.

Vauxhall Vivaro – The End Of The White Van Man Stereotype

May 9th, 2008 TomLondon Posted in Automotive | No Comments »

I’m a pretty easy-going guy in the scheme of things. After all life’s too short to be moaning and groaning all the time about the weather or stressing over what to choose at a restaurant. However out on the road, there are two things that grate on me more than a lump of cheese: people driving whilst on mobile phones and white van men.

Now if you drive a white Vauxhall Van I’ll get to you presently, but firstly to the blood boiling spectacular. I find it incredible that people worry about terrorism to the extent they won’t travel abroad and turn their homes into fortresses to evade burglars to then use a phone whilst driving. To deliberately put yourself in mortal danger to find out that dinner will be the same time as it has been for the last five years befuddles me.

The introduction of points on the licence, a fine or prison sentence doesn’t seem to have changed matters much. When the sun popped out for two minutes the other day, some bloke in a convertible put the roof down faster than you can say “hairdresser” and drove up my backside whilst giggling on his poncy phone – a clear case of advertising you’re an idiot. Tell you this for free, had he been caught and jailed, he’d have lasted the same length of time in clink that the sun shone for.

In almost equal measure is the nations’ favourite stereotype – the white van man. Whether it’s overtaking at a snails pace on a blind bend, tailgating you from Land’s End to John O Groats or just driving into your stationary car, white van man rules the road. Give me the combination of a white van man and active mobile phone and the Incredible Hulk sequel will be tame in comparison.

Apologies for the rant, but you’ll now understand my reaction when I was asked to review the Vauxhall Vivaro, which appears to be a van and not a car. Depth and out of came to mind, however I’m willing to cross one of my two hatreds off the list and give Vauxhall’s light commercial van a sporting chance.

Having called upon my youth and love of the A-team, the idea of driving a van suddenly seemed much cooler and things started well with the Vivaro. For a kick-off although it doesn’t come in black with red stripes, the styling is, well, attractive. The Vivaro manages to keep its sense of identity with the Vauxhall range with a curvy front end and sweeping sides but there is no denying it’s built for one purpose.

With this intention in mind, I opened the giant rear doors and can report that the load space is…um big. The actual figures will probably inform you better, with the Vivaro’s maximum load length and width 2,415mm and 1,663mm respectively. A few clever features are to be found, in keeping with Vauxhall’s innovations throughout its range. The door catches can be easily released so they open a whopping 165 degrees and a non slip step is incorporated for extra safety when opening the sliding side door.

Inside the cabin it’s all really rather civilised with plenty of space for red top newspapers, lads mags and fast food. Cup holders abound and the obligatory three seats are also present. The driving position is good, with a fully adjustable steering wheel, although having the gear stick elevated off the ground may not be to everyone’s taste.

Out on the road, the 2.0 litre engine develops 115bhp which is an improvement on the previous model. Considering the last Vauxhall I drove was the Corsa VXR, the van was always going to be snail paced in comparison but once I was grounded back into reality it is actually a strong runner. Motorway driving is clearly the environment the van is most used to and it doesn’t disappoint. The engine happily rumbles along and the gear changes are swift and easy. In fact, despite me being a weakling I had no trouble manoeuvring the van in even the most confined spaces once off the motorway.

Running costs should be favourable too, with the Vivaro returning 39mpg and with service intervals of 18,000 miles you won’t spend all your time listening to lounge music at your local Vauxhall dealer. A sparkly new van also comes with a three year or 100,000 miles warranty and has certainly changed my opinion on what a van from Vauxhall can offer. Just please don’t tailgate me if you buy one.

One last piece of important information - the Vivaro is also available in red.

The Golden Jeep Compass

May 9th, 2008 IeuanKnox Posted in Automotive | No Comments »

There’s nothing worse than a half-baked idea. The thought of combining two favourable ingredients to result in one super, all powerful outcome has never worked. One such example are super-groups, rock bands that combine to be ‘better’ than their original form. Audioslave are one such example, combining Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and all but the rapping bloke from Rage Against the Machine. The format worked so well that RATM are back together and Chris is writing jingles for James Bond flicks.

Take Coca Cola and lime. On their own they make a fair fist of making small children go loopy and adults go all sour-faced. Stick them together and you have a sour tasting drink aimed at those with a sweet tooth. Remember XFL? Xtreme Football League I believe it was called and this heady formula added a pinch of wrestling to the already bubbling pot of American Football. One season that multi-million pound idea lasted for.

Just because you like two different things is never reason enough to combine them and assume the best. All of which leads me neatly into the muddy and treacherous world of the 4 x 4. Designed to eat mountains for breakfast, the original premise of a 4 x 4 was to be an off-roader and before you knew it manufacturers were sticking large wheels and huge ground clearance beneath their cars. Then one day a boffin decided it’d be a good idea to combine the everyday drivability of a car with the go anywhere, no nonsense versatility of a 4 x 4.

Unfortunately this meant that the market was flooded with vehicles that were sufficiently altered and were therefore useless off road as they weren’t high enough, and rubbish on the road as they weren’t low enough. Even more unfortunately unlike Audioslave, Coke lime and XFL, no-one seems to have noticed the bad idea and the roads crawl with haphazard handling brutes.

Thankfully then Jeep have decided to break from the mould and set up camp firmly on the car side of the field. Ladies and gentleman please welcome the Jeep Compass. It’s the first time the company have stepped away from their roots with a two door convertible that looks almost identical to a Ferrari. Ok, it’s not a two door Italian supercar look-alike and yes it does look like a large, almost 4 x 4 type vehicle but it’s technically a hatchback, I promise.

Jeep are putting their faith in the Compass attracting a new buyer demographic and a look at the rear three quarters screams Mercedes. The Compass does in fact boast some impressive styling with sharp European lines embraced with Jeep’s trademark seven-slot front grill and round headlights. It is without doubt the bravest styled vehicle Jeep have produced in recent years but it works. It also clearly make the statement that time and money have been spent breaking the mould and sending the company down a different road.

I’m not so shallow that good looks will distract me from seeing how it drives and to be honest I sensed the worst. I mean Jeep supplies the US Army with its vehicles where armour easily out-muscles refinement on the must-have list. Despite this lack of pedigree the Compass really is refined. As you’d expect from a 4 x 4 manufacturer, the interior is spacious, well laid out and easy to use. Leg room in the back is so large that kids may get lost and boot space puts its hatchback rivals to shame. The build quality is also an improvement on past Jeep models – usually a sure fire sign that you’ve bought cheap. Yet the Jeep belies this fact, even if it is all a bit grey.

The driveability doesn’t let the side down either, with a torque-y 2.0 litre diesel ably propelling the Compass around town or quietly down the motorway. The independent suspension steals the show however, giving the car (yes car!) a smooth, quiet and undeniably comfortable ride.

Pricing at an initial glace a tad high, with UK models starting at £18,990, however compare the American hatchback to its rivals in terms of how it drives, comfort, standard kit and exclusivity and it suddenly seems like a steal. It must be stressed that if you do buy the Jeep Compass and you tackle much more than a stone on the road you’ll look like a beached whale. Use the Compass as intended though and you’ll find a hatchback that is a serious contender to the likes of its similarly priced rivals.

On this form the US Army will go for the leather seats option on their next bulk purchase.

Scrapbooking Your Handwriting: The Personal Touch

May 9th, 2008 ChristinePerry Posted in Arts and Crafts | No Comments »

Scrapbooking has joined the digital age. We can now make complete scrapbooking pages on our computers. Even those of us who prefer traditional scrapbooking tend to use the computer for our journaling to print clean, neat captions and narratives on our layouts. Handwriting on pages may not be as pretty as a computer font, but it is so much more personal and meaningful to our families.

Why do we hesitate to use our own handwriting in our albums? There are a few reasons. The most common one is concern that our handwriting is too messy or won’t be able to be read by others. We should all try to get beyond this and realize how important it is to our family to preserve something as unique as our handwriting. Think about those handwritten letters and recipes from a grandparent and how important they are to you now.

Another reason people resist handwriting on page layouts is fear that they will make a mistake that can’t be erased. There are many ways to correct a handwriting error. First, use a paper journaling block to write on first. You can always use a second one if you make a mistake. You can also correct a mistake by placing a new piece of paper over the error on the page, and write again on that piece. Finally, stickers work wonders when it comes to covering up most kinds of scrapbooking mistakes.

The right pen makes a big difference when it comes to handwriting success. Look carefully at the paper you are using, and choose the best pen for that type of surface. Many pens will smear or run on certain types of papers. Choose a pen with the appropriate width as well. Trying to write in a small space with a wide tip will be a definite handwriting challenge.

Practice, practice, practice. Write out the journaling first on a scrap piece of paper. Read it over slowly out loud. This will help you spot errors in spelling and grammar. For longer narrative writing, you may want to have someone else proofread it for you before you place it on your page. Be sure to test the pen on a small piece of the paper you want to use. Writing a draft will let you know how much room you need to write on as well.

Are you one of those people that write uphill? If you find it difficult to write in a straight line, use lined journaling blocks. You can make them yourself, buy a stamp with lines designed for this purpose, or purchase pre-lined journaling papers. Another tip is to use the natural lines in your layouts. Write along stripes on patterned paper. Handwrite phrases around a frame. You can even print on the edges of your borders.

Handwriting is uniquely personal. It’s also a form of validation, like our signature. A page layout with handwritten journaling adds character to a scrapbook album. It’s a glimpse into who you are. Your family will treasure your scrapbook pages even more, because it tells them about your personality and even reflects your mood. A computer font can’t add the depth and emotion to your words that your handwriting can.

Jewellery Strictly For The Boys

May 9th, 2008 JasonTye Posted in Arts and Crafts | No Comments »

Dazzling and trendy — but who says only women gets to wear it?

Sure enough, men are also into accessorizing themselves as it adds more character, style, and personality from an everyday plain get-up morphing into a look that deserves more than just a second glance.

Since the ancient times, men and women have been accessorizing to promote social status and affiliation to a particular group. At one point, though, it was viewed that men wearing jewellery are considered effeminate. With the introduction of modern concepts, men wearing what were previously considered only for women are now treated as self expression.

However, there is a fine line between choosing the correct bling blings that still pull off a masculine look as opposed to being a walking advertisement for a jewelry store. Before choosing any of these fancy items, be sure to evaluate your level of comfort wearing them and the over-all appearance that you would want to project.

Earrings would definitely be one of the first jewelries in that bling bling list. Creativity and variety are the key points here since they are not limited to only the earlobes. Piercing eyebrows, tongue, lips or any other part of the body are contemporary self expressions although it is strongly suggested not to go overboard by getting too much. You might want to let others appreciate your piercing and not make them wince by just looking at you.

If you are tall, avoid wearing long necklaces so as not to emphasize your height and instead maintain a semblance of lateral balance. It is best to opt for chains with lesser length in this case. The reverse is true if you’re leaning on the shorter height. Longer chains would work on you while the necklaces closer to the neck would only make you look shorter than you really are.

Muscular guys can manage to wear weighty necklaces while those with leaner bodies are advised to choose lighter ones. Consider the volume of the necklace you are choosing since it would look and feel awkward if the entire appearance would be out of proportion.

Same principle with the necklaces would actually apply in selecting rings and bracelets. These four are the basic accessories for men and combining them with each other or with any other types of jewelries are not possible, depending on the occasion. Tone down the others if you have chosen one particular showy piece so as not to make the details clash instead of complimenting you.

One last thought: while it is true that there are, shall we say, universal guidelines in picking up jewellery for both men and women, it is important to stress your own attributes and be confident.

Fashion would probably demand the uniformity of trend and style and with it is the constant change all throughout the season. But the best criterion is really your personality.

Remember that individual character makes the full works and jewellery only enhances what you’ve already got.

The Real Secret To Changing Anything

May 8th, 2008 WendyN. Posted in Advice | No Comments »

How any times have you said: I wish I could lose weight, I wish I were in a great relationship, I wish I were making more money, I wish I loved my work?

And how many times have you taken a few steps forward, and then pulled back because you decided it would be a waste of time…or simply impossible?

How many times have you seen someone on TV who made an enormous positive change? What specifically did you tell yourself about the difference between you and him or her?

Now consider that there really isn’t much difference between you two.

You are both human. You have similar needs: air, water, food, shelter, and some sort of relationship or connection with others. Oh, and purpose. That, too.

The rest? All small things.

So the real difference between you and that person you regard as so successful? The secret? Certain habits.

What kind of habits? Read on for details.

- Habits of Thought

Consider Jojo. She thinks of herself as athletic. She always did, even before she did anything athletic. Her big brother is a runner and she admired that.

But she didn’t want to run.

She tried basketball in high school, was part of the team that won a second-place trophy, and that, she says, showed her the kind of athlete she was meant to be.

She learned what basketball players do, and she did those things. She practiced shooting hoops, talked to other players, read about pro players, and applied for women’s basketball scholarships at several colleges.

She trained and ate like a player too.

All these things began as habits of thought, and then became habits of action.

What does this mean? Simply that she thought of herself as athletic, then did “athletic things,” and finally made those athletic things habitual.

On the rare day when she doesn’t do her exercises or shoot hoops, her body feels off and her game isn’t as good. She realized that a while back and quickly made a priority of her workouts and hoop shots.

The more she acts like a basketball player, the more she thinks and feels like one.

The more she thinks and feels like a basketball player, the more she acts like one.

It is self perpetuating, and it works for Jojo very well. Jojo started with a thought and moved toward action.

- Habits of Action

It was different for Dave than for Jojo. Dave didn’t begin with thought. He began with action.

You see, when Dave was a child, his mother sent him to art class after school every Tuesday and Thursday starting in fifth grade. She had become a single mom unexpectedly and needed a few extra hours of work twice a week to help the family finances.

A neighbor taught art in her home to neighborhood kids, and Dave’s mother could afford the class, so Dave went there twice a week for three years.

At first, he didn’t even think about whether he liked it or not. It was just something his mom sent him to do, and he got friendly with two other boys in the class, so it was fun.

Dave started with an action that had no particular importance to him. At first. But repetition reinforced the habit. And his friendships in the class added to the positive experience related to art.

Action created a thought, or more accurately a belief: Being in this art class is fun. Making art feels good. Art is something I like. Art is part of me.

In college Dave ended up with a double major in art and political science.

Today he’s an attorney who paints for fun, and buys art, supporting the careers of several struggling artists.

Habits are self-perpetuating: Thoughts, or beliefs (a belief is simply a strong thought that you invest yourself in), can become actions. Actions reinforce beliefs.

And so it goes, unless something breaks that chain.

If Dave gets too busy to paint at all and finds that he needs to stop spending money on art, he may stop connecting himself with art.

He is no longer an artist.

He no longer supports the arts.

You will no longer find him in the art museum on Sundays.

“Which of your actions do you want to keep as habits?” This is an important question to ask yourself because…

- Habits of Action Are Self Perpetuating

Thoughtsactions

Actionsthoughts

If you want a habit that’s useful to you, make it your business to maintain it. If you need to skip now and then, get back to it ASAP.

A client I’ll call Shana decided to lose weight four years ago and keep it off for the rest of her life. Among other things, she made a deal with herself to stop eating ice cream all together. For Shana, it was a trigger food that led her to chocolate bars and then cakes, re-connected her sweet tooth, and set her up for more and more sugary, fatty treats.

When she ate none of these items, she stayed trim. If she indulged in a candy bar, she wanted another the next day, and another the day after.

For this reason, she gave up these items so they wouldn’t trigger sugar binges.

Yet sometimes she felt deprived.

After some experimentation, we discovered that she could eat chocolate that was very dark, with little sugar. It satisfied her craving without triggering a candy binge.

We all need to explore as Shana did to make sure we can satisfy ourselves without walking away from our goal. To explore what we need to cut out entirely. What we want to take on that’s new (i.e., a different kind of exercise). And what we can do some of but not too much of.

How does this work in your situation?

Ask yourself:

Which habits of mine are useful and should be kept?

Which will I now build upon or create?

Which do I choose to let go of?

On which do I need to make small and simple changes?

How can I continue what’s working? First, how can I train myself to notice what’s working?

Once I notice what works, I can strengthen that useful habit simply by acknowledging, rewarding, and continuing what works.

Really, it’s quite uncomplicated. If you can notice and recognize a beautiful morning sky, be aware of and enjoy the funny thing your pet did, or detect happiness in a friend’s voice over the phone—then you can have great success with any and every technique mentioned in this article.

Start with one. Try it. Repeat it. Understand it. Own it. Then go on to another.

You now officially have the real secret to changing anything in your life.

Why not start today?

Making The Best Of Fashion Through Men’s Necklaces

May 8th, 2008 JasonTye Posted in Arts and Crafts | No Comments »

Perhaps, all of us are familiar with the scene in a play wherein a husband would give his wife a piece of precious jewellery. Then she opens the box with much enthusiasm and excitement. The wife would then have a jaw drop as she looks into the box. She receives a black leather choker from her very loving husband with silver studs around, which looks like a dog collar. Such is just an example of a tragic-comedy story that we are often familiar with related to stories of necklaces. More stories could be related to necklaces like the emergence of its use among men. Along the years, men’s accessories are not anymore confined to just neckties. Today, men are also capable of wearing necklaces as fashion accessories. You just have to be observant, and notice that many men today are fond of wearing necklaces as part of their get-up.

There are a lot of variations that we can see today. Men have beaded necklace, perhaps for the spiritually leaning man. There are chokers that we often see among men who are body builders in the gym. Likewise, there are chunky gold necklaces for men who are younger and bolder. For sophisticated men, meanwhile, we see them with the classic silver necklace that spell maturity and elegance. Whatever kind of necklace a man wears, it surely adds to the fashion get-up of a person. Also, the male race seems to get more pride out of these necklaces.

The progress and growth in the field of necklaces as fine jewellers has indeed satisfied men’s interest toward jewellery. Jeweller companies like Tiffany’s have actually expanded the traditional cufflink and watch collection to add a range of men’s line of jewellers like pendants, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. In addition, the company has also managed to design some masculine jewellry styles in steel, titanium, and silver.

In a poll conducted in the United States, at least 75 perent of the surveyed men enjoy wearing jewellery as their accessories while 80 percent of the surveyed women stated that they find it sexy when men wear jewellery. Indeed, today’s generation of males have become more conscious on their fashion statement and over-all get-up. In recent years, it seems that necklace is an accessory that would complete a man’s looks.

Also, we have observed more and more male television personalities who succumb to wearing necklaces which are seen as attractive by some of the viewers.

The traditional notion that necklaces are just for women is totally gone. Because today, gender is not an issue when it comes to accessories and ornaments. What is important is that the person who wears them carry it with great confidence and pride. Most of the times, accessories and jewelleries like necklace is an added accent for a person to appear more pleasing in the eyes of the public.

We may never know the future trends that might emerge in the industry of necklaces worn by men. But one thing is for sure, necklaces play a great role in improving the posture of men.

How To Convert Your Car To Run On Water?

May 8th, 2008 Dr.EswararamananVR Posted in Automotive | No Comments »

Can you really convert your car to run on water?. If you are considering making the move to running your car on water instead of the traditional gasoline, there are a few things that you should know. First of all, it is important to understand why this is a good idea and what it does to benefit not only you, but the car as well a the environment.

First of all, you will save money after you have installed the equipment on your car and converted it to running on water. The money you save will equal about 40% of the money that you currently spend on gas each month. This means if you are buying about 300 gallons of gas a month, you’re spending 1000, and with this method you will save about 400$ a month. This means that you will be able to use this money for something else.

Also, your engine will benefit from the use of water instead of the traditional fuels. The water will clean your engine out as you are using it. Most of the time, the damage in your engine is coming from unburned and unused fuel. This means that if you use less fuel, your car’s engine will be much healthier and will stay healthier for longer. There will be less problems with your car and with the engine of your car, so using water is a good option for your vehicle.

Also, of course, you’ll be polluting the environment less. Everyone would like to be green, and by changing your car over to a car that runs on water, you can save your share of the planet and do something small that will end up having big implications. This is one of the ways that you can help yourself help the environment.

If you are interested in running your car on water, there are a few steps that you can take to make this a reality. The first thing that you need to know is that you aren’t actually using pure water to run your car. What you’ll be doing is changing the water into H2O cells. This is done through a process of electrolysis. The cells are produced by electrolysis and then they are converted to electrical power, which is then used as fuel by your car.

Therefore, in order to convert your car, you will need to have the car updated. There will be parts that must be installed in your engine ,and several parts of the car itself will have to be rebuilt. The best way to do this is to take your car to a shop that specializes in converting your car to run on water. After your car has been converted, you’ll be able to run it using regular water. Usually, a quart or a liter of water can be used for up to 900 miles of driving, depending on your engine and the parts that have been installed.

Earrings Make Men Of All Time A Character

May 8th, 2008 JasonTye Posted in Arts and Crafts | No Comments »

A fashion statement, both for men and women is not at all hindered by borders or limitations. What women wear or use to enhance their physical beauty may now be used by men. Hence, the word “beautiful” is not an exclusive adjective for women. A man who is stylish and well-adorned may also be regarded as beautiful without being quantified or prejudged of his sexual preference. Jewelry is also tailored to cater both men and women- from watches, rings, necklaces, and earrings. In fact, jewelry is a point of interest among men and the level of such interest for jewelry is very much the same with that of women’s.

As a matter of fact, jewelry specifically earrings for men are not at all new. The trend of wearing earrings among men was indeed a hit during the eighties and is still a fashion today. Nevertheless, wearing of earrings can be traced back to the early years of human existence and even to the remotest part of the globe. Intriguingly, ear piercing even amongst men had already existed 5,000 years ago. Wearing of earrings is also an interesting part of culture or tradition of most tribesmen who lived in the past and are still in existence at present. Knowing background of earrings for men and their reasons for wearing such, is as important as knowing why men become interested with it. It is like knowing the origins and rules of basketball first before playing and winning the game.

In addition, it will even be more interesting to know that there are great men in human history whom also had their ear pierced. Some of the men who are remarkable for their outstanding achievements in history and who also had their ear pierced for earring during their time are Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh, Queen Elizabeth, and Francis Drake.

Consequently, it is a mistake to regard men, who fashion earrings at present, as rebellious. Earrings at present are now accepted as part of conventional accessories not only for women but also for men because men wear earrings not because they want to defy whoever or whatever but because they just feel they like it- being fashionable yet masculine.

But before men should finally decide to wear earring, they must consider knowing the right style, size, or earrings so that they will not just be part of the fad but they will also find the right one that will not be an offbeat for their personality. Men’s earring must not be too awkward that it tends to overwhelm people who will see it. Men’s personality is usually mysterious and subtle and definitely they want to exude such impression on other people. A simple style yet emanating with strength in character is a good idea for men’s earring. This is then applicable for diamond earring for men, and the best example is a round cut diamond earring. However, square diamonds may also be a good choice because it is rarely chosen making it extra-ordinary. Other earring for men that is made not of diamond is also a good choice- examples are earrings made of metals like silver and gold, and adorned with other special gemstones aside from diamond.
